Last updated: November 14, 2025

This privacy policy governs your use of the Beer Me In mobile application ("App") that was created by Petr Pucek. Beer Me In is a beer logging and tracking application with social features and AI-powered insights.

INFORMATION WE COLLECT

User Provided Information

To use Beer Me In, you must create an account using either Apple Sign In (iOS) or Google Sign In (Android). During registration:

  • Email Address: Optional. You may choose to provide your email address during sign-in. If provided, it is stored in our database but is not visible or editable within the App.
  • Username: Required. You must create a unique username for your profile.
  • Beer Logging Data: Information you provide when logging beers, including counts, dates, and related statistics.
  • Profile Customization: Optional data such as profile theme selection and custom title (for PRO users).

We do not store your Apple ID or Google account credentials. Authentication is handled securely through Apple and Google's authentication services.

Automatically Collected Information

We use third-party services that may automatically collect certain information:

  • Firebase Analytics: Collects usage data, app interactions, device information, and crash reports to help us improve the App.
  • Google AdMob: May collect device information, ad interaction data, and other information necessary for serving and personalizing advertisements. AdMob's data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

The App itself does not directly collect device identifiers, IP addresses, or location data. However, the third-party services mentioned above may collect such information as described in their respective privacy policies.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Account Management: To create and maintain your account, authenticate you, and enable account deletion.
  • Email Address: If you provided an email address during registration, it is stored in our database. Currently, we do not send any emails to this address, but we may use it in the future for important account notifications or optional newsletters (with your consent).
  • Core Functionality: To provide beer logging, statistics, insights, leaderboards, and social features.
  • AI Features: Your beer logging data is sent to OpenAI's API to generate personalized summaries, tips, predictions, and other AI-powered features available to subscribers. We do not send any personally identifiable information (like email or username) to OpenAI.
  • Social Features: To enable you to add friends, view other users' profiles, and display activity on leaderboards.
  • Analytics: To understand how users interact with the App and improve our services through Firebase Analytics.
  • Advertising: To serve advertisements through Google AdMob (for non-PRO users).
  • Customer Support: To respond to your questions, requests, and feedback.

DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY

Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore, a cloud-hosted database service. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

However, please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

INFORMATION SHARING AND VISIBILITY

Public Information

Certain information in your profile is visible to other users of the App:

  • All Users Can See: Your username, custom title (if set), selected theme, registration date, total beer and shot counts, and summary statistics (today, yesterday, last 7/30/90 days).
  • Friends Can See: All of the above, plus detailed beer logging data and charts for the last 90 days.
  • Leaderboards: Your username and beer counts may appear on public leaderboards within the App.

Third-Party Service Providers

We share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the App:

  • Apple / Google: For authentication services (Apple Sign In / Google Sign In).
  • Google Firebase: For data storage (Firestore) and analytics (Firebase Analytics).
  • Google AdMob: For serving advertisements to non-PRO users.
  • OpenAI: Your beer logging data (not personal identifiers) is sent to OpenAI's API to generate AI-powered features for subscribers.

These service providers have their own privacy policies and are responsible for their data practices. We encourage you to review their privacy policies:

Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or government agency), including to:

  • Comply with a legal obligation
  • Protect and defend our rights or property
  • Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the App
  • Protect the personal safety of users or the public

ADVERTISING AND TRACKING

AdMob Advertising

Non-PRO users will see advertisements served by Google AdMob. When you first use the App, you will have the opportunity to customize your ad experience and set your advertising preferences.

On iOS devices, you will receive an App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt after registration, asking for your permission to track your activity across apps and websites. You can choose to allow or deny this tracking.

You can manage your ad preferences at any time through your device settings or through Google's ad settings.

Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with our App. This helps us identify bugs, improve features, and enhance user experience. Firebase Analytics may collect usage patterns, session data, device information, and crash reports.

YOUR DATA RIGHTS AND CHOICES

Access and Control

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Account Deletion: You may delete your account at any time through the settings screen in the App. Upon deletion, all your data (including any email address you provided) will be immediately and permanently removed from our systems.
  • Username Changes: PRO users can change their username at any time through the App.
  • Ad-Free Experience: You can remove ads by purchasing the PRO account.

Advertising Controls
